Hi,
I moved in July of 2023 from VA to D.C. My W-2 for the first 7 months of the year, while living in VA is correct, but my new D.C. W-2 seems to be incorrect. It lists the state for filing as Virginia in slot #15 and at the bottom it says "VA. State Filing Copy." How can I best reconcile this while filing? When I went to file I got some money back from VA, but seemed to owe a lot more to D.C. than I was expecting. Does this seem correct? Thanks in advance!
