Should I file a regular Oregon State Tax Return since I was taxed Oregon State income tax, even though I did not live or work in Oregon at all?
I had a work training in Oregon in the year 2021 during the summer for less than 2 months. After completing the training, I was transferred to my new location in Washington State where I have continued to work ever since. (where I also reside). What I had not noticed until mid summer of 2023 was that my employer had never changed my state tax information, so I had been paying Oregon State Income Tax up until that point that I mentioned it and they changed it over to Washington State; however, I never got any compensation or refund for the Oregon State Income Taxes I had paid up until that point. Since I hadn't noticed it until this last summer, I hadn't thought about filing under Oregon State for the prior year so that information was not included when I filed last year. So, this year, since now I am aware of it, I am trying to figure out if I should be filing a regular Oregon Tax Refund or if there is a uncommon circumstance section I should fill out?
