State tax filing
According to the Massachusetts Personal Income Tax for Nonresidents, if you're a nonresident of Massachusetts, you must file a Massachusetts Income Tax Return if you received Massachusetts source income or your gross income was more than $8,000 – whether received from sources inside or outside Massachusetts.
It's possible you may owe taxes in both states. TurboTax will help you make that determination. Tip: When preparing returns in multiple states, it's best to do your nonresident and/or part-year resident state returns first, and your resident state last.
