State tax filing
Yes and Yes. Here are the instructions for filing the part-year Arkansas return. You will be entering your Texas address and move date (07/2023) in the personal information section. TurboTax will generate a part-year return and next year, assuming you stay in Texas, you will not be required to file a state return since Texas has no income tax. 🙂
If you did not have income in Arkansas before your move, you are not required to file the Arkansas return, as it will be $0. Nonresident individuals, partnerships, trusts, or estates are subject to the same tax and at the same rates applicable to resident individuals, trusts, or estates, except that the tax is imposed with respect only to net income earned within Arkansas.
