I moved from Arkansas to Texas in July of 2023. I have not changed my driver's license or taken legal action to change my residency. Can I claim to be a resident of TX starting whenever I began paying rent in Texas?
I lived in Arkansas my whole life and graduated from a university in Arkansas in May of 2023. In July of 2023, I moved to Texas, began paying rent at a Texas apartment, and started a full-time job in Texas. My driver's license is still for Arkansas, but I have changed my mailing address to my Texas address.
For tax purposes, can I claim that I am currently a resident of Texas, starting in July 2023?
Would I need to claim that I was a part-time Arkansas resident?
