State tax filing
No, state liability is key. The home state of MO gets to tax all income and must give a credit for double taxed income. The NEC is not self-employed income when working for a school. It should be taxed as ordinary income. Fill out the nonresident state return, get a tax liability, then fill out the resident MO return with a tax credit for the tax paid to MO.
I am not following how working in FL caused IL tax but that is ok. FL has no state tax.
