State tax filing

Maybe.  Whether or not your Social Security income is taxable depends on your total income, including your Social Security plus any other income.

When you enter your Personal Information into the program, you must indicate which state you lived in on 12/31/23.  In addition the software will ask if you lived in another state in 2023, and when you moved to your current state.

The program will determine if you need to file a part-time resident tax return for both states, and if you need to enter your Social Security income in one or both returns.

Enter your Social Security income into TurboTax, and we'll tell you if it's taxable.
