State tax filing
It's a glitch in the software set up that asks the user to correct the Parcel ID number only. The TurboTax prompt should be asking users to check both the county number they entered and the Parcel ID number for errors, but it doesn't.
TurboTax can fix this problem by modifying the drop down menu for selecting the county in this section to include both the county number and the county name (example "55 - Lancaster"). TurboTax also needs to change the error prompt on the Parcel ID to ask the users to check both the county number they entered and the Parcel ID number for errors.
This problem is compounded by the State of Nebraska using two completely different county numbering systems. The Department of Motor Vehicles uses one system that Nebraskans are very familiar with as the DMV county numbering system is used on vehicle license plates. The DMV numbering system is based on the population size of the different counties and is numbered from largest to smallest. The Nebraska Dept. of Revenue uses a different alphabetical numbering system that no one is familiar with. Incorrectly entering your DMV county number in this section may trigger an error prompt to correct the Parcel ID number. What actually needs corrected is the county number, not the Parcel ID.
TurboTax needs to fix this, a big thumbs down for letting it fester for a third tax season.
