In my W2, my company has specified that my reported Wages for State and Local are significantly lower than my federal wages; however, there's a disclaimer below the outlined reported wages that specifies "New York requires total Federal Wages to be reported in Box 16". What is the impact of this on my taxes? Will I have to pay higher state taxes because my federal reported wage is higher?
