E-filing NY state return
According to TurboTax, NY state law requires me to E-file my NY state income tax return if I used tax software to prepare the return (which I did, using TurboTax). However, because my federal return includes form 8621, which TurboTax does not support, I must print and mail my federal return. When I go to E-file my NY state return, I am getting a message from TurboTax stating that I cannot E-file my state return without first E-filing my federal return. This presents quite a conundrum. How do I follow the requirement to E-file my NY state return when TurboTax says I can only do so after I E-file my federal return (which again, I am unable to do)?
