State tax filing
It sounds as if Ohio is not allocating your income properly, to only tax that income sourced in Ohio.
First, please check My Info in the Federal return and be sure your mailing address is listed as your Florida address, you have selected Florida in the drop down box, and the box is checked for Made money in another state.
- Next, go to the States section and click on the delete trashcan icon for Ohio
- Then, add Ohio back and be sure it is creating a Part Year Resident return (it will refresh data from the federal return)
- It should then show your federal income and ask you to allocate what is sourced in Ohio
- You will not need to file a return in Florida, since it is one of the states with no individual income tax
