You can enter the deduction on your Federal Schedule A Medical and Dental. However, if your total medical and dental expenses are less than 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), you will not get a deduction for Medical expenses paid on your Federal income tax return.
The total itemized deductions from Maine adjusted gross income claimed on a return may not exceed $28,350, except the limitation does not apply to medical and dental expenses included in an individual's itemized deductions from federal adjusted gross income.
