State tax filing
Yes, Hawaii will accept a N-15 form by e-file, but they don't allow certain credits and deductions to be e-filed. For example if you are adjusting your Hawaii taxable income, you need to mail in the forms.
To make sure you aren't missing something, you can go through the Review section of your return again. You may have an error message that was not resolved instead of a situation that can't be e-filed.
To do that:
- Open your return and select Review from the menu on the left.
- Click Continue.
- Carefully read each message that comes up.
- Keep going until you see the Ready to file badge shown below.
If you need to print and mail your return to Hawaii, attach a copy of your federal return and a copy of your other state return along with your W-2 forms and any forms that show additional state tax withheld.
