Live in one state, work in another - not able to modify amounts?
Hi, my wife and I work in Rhode Island and live in Massachusetts. My W2 shows both RI and MA tax withheld for 2022, but my wife only had RI tax withheld in her W2. When I go to complete the Mass. tax it shows that it's double-counting my own income (understood) and I can tell TurboTax to only include the wages associated with MA, but because my wife didn't have any Mass. tax taken out it completely ignores her income.
So....I made $100 last year and my wife made $50, both from RI. I want the Mass. tax return to show $150 of income but TurboTax will only allow $250 (the double-count of my salary plus my wife's), or $100 (because my W2 included Mass. tax withholding).
How the heck do I fix this? TurboTax is telling me that only including my salary in the MA return is correct which of course is resulting in a refund of $3K vs. tax due of $300. TurboTax used to have an area where you could manually enter the correct amount but it doesn't seem to have that anymore. Appreciate any help!
