State tax filing

The simple thing to do is mark yourself as a full year resident of WV, treating the time in NC as a temporary absence from your WV home.

You will file a WV resident return and a NC non resident return.  WV will give you a credit, or partial credit, for the tax you pay NC.

You could make a case for filing as part year resident of both states, depending on the nature of your time in NC.  But, TurboTax doesn't handle rotating residency very well and the tax , almost always,  comes out the same either way.
