State tax filing
If there was an entry made on the federal tax return it will continue to flow to the State tax return. You may have inadvertently added or started an entry for Rental income. I advise you to go back to the rentals section on the federal side and see if there is something entered for rental income. If you see an entry started, delete it and then go to the State Taxes and got to the review section to see if that removed it.
To get to the Rentals section:
- Open or continue your return, if you haven’t already
- Locate the Search bar in the upper right of your screen. Search for rentals and select the Jump to link at the top of the search results
