State tax filing
Thank you for the response. I moved to Florida in July 2021 and have been working in Florida since July 2021. I am aware of filing a non-residence tax form for the 2022 tax year. But my issue is trying to get a refund from NY because the wages, I earned were all while I was a Florida resident for a Florida-based company. I indicated under box 16 in my federal taxes that my NY State wages were "0" even though my W2 form has a numerical value to represent my wages for 2022. When I tried filing the State Tax electronically, I got an error message stating that I should have a numeric value (wages) in box 16. What should I do? Should I print the tax form and mail my state taxes?, or is there something else I can do to file the form electronically to the state of NY?
