If I need to have medical care in a state that taxes do I need to file a part year state tax return? I had no wage earnings in that state?

I did have wages early in the year (Jan, Feb, Mar) in my home state that does not tax but did not receive any wage earnings later in the year in this other state where I needed to seek medical care.
