Sch M -may need to assign part of the income to one spouse. For example, jointly owned an account and earned interest. See Schedule M instructions on page 23 of WV instructions. You might find the senior tax calculation on page 25 interesting.
In community property states, even wages can be split between spouses. WV is not one, but good to know.
