It is probably because your state has not yet started processing e-filed returns. For example, the Georgia Department of Revenue recently announced they will begin processing e-filed returns on February 1, 2023. North Carolina announced they anticipate they "will begin accepting returns by Feb. 3, it will be early March before 'we' can begin processing and validating return information and issuing refunds.
