State tax filing

Since they are both resident returns (as opposed to non-resident returns), the order in which you prepare them doesn't matter.    If you were filing any non-resident state returns, you would prepare those before any resident state returns to ensure you received any credits due you.    But if there are no non-resident returns you are filing, that won't apply.    This link has some example scenarios you can use as a guide if interested.
