My state of NY Unemployment from 1099-G does not show up on NY tax return even though it is reported in Turbotax
I received Statement of Proposed Audit Change from the state of NY. It says that the unemployment received from 2021 was not reported as per the 1099-G that they received and taxes are owed on that money. I pulled up the state tax return from 2021 and I noticed that it shows the unemployment income reported under the federal column but not for the state of NY, so it does appear that the income was excluded. When I go back into Turbotax, everything appears to be filled out correctly, referencing the state of NY in numerous spots, and even stating the amount of NY taxes withheld on the unemployment income. I am trying to figure out if there was an error with Turbotax putting the amount on the tax return, or if the state of NY has it wrong. Any advice is appreciated.
