In May 2022, the State of Georgia announced that due to the GA Department of Revenue's surplus certain State Tax filers would receive as much as a $500 rebate.
Caveats are:
- Must have filed Georgia State Tax Returns in 2020 and 2021
- Social Security and VA Benefits are not qualifiable as Tax Liability
- Must have a Tax Liability for Tax Years 2020 and 2021
My wife and I filed Jointly, both receive Social Security and I receive VA Disability; however I also receive a Georgia Retirement pension of approximately $54K which incurs a Georgia State Tax Liability.
Is this Georgia Retirement pension not a Qualifyer for the 2020 and 2021 Georgia Tax Rebate of $500 for Joint Filer?
