I am a California resident who is going to move abroad as part of a job. Does it makes sense to redomicile my LLC out of CA to Nevada before I move, to avoid taxes?
Hi,
I have been living in California for over 10 years now, and this summer, I plan to move to Canada. The move is related to a job that my wife got at a university there. I myself earn money through a single-person LLC that sells software products on the internet, which was registered in California over 10 years ago, and don't have any other source of income.
My question is: does it makes sense to redomicile the LLC out of California to Nevada (or somewhere with no state income tax) before I move? Or will it not matter? I am trying to avoid having to pay California taxes going forward.
Thanks.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Zulfi Shah.
