I am a college student in Massachusetts with residence in California. I just filed my federal taxes to get a refund of the $32 I paid in taxes. I was wondering if I still have to file my California state taxes even if I don't have any taxes due or any refund. I think I'm not required to file both federal and state taxes, but I filed the federal income tax anyway to get the refund of $32. Do I have to file the CA because I filed the federal? Thanks.
