Married Filing Jointly Federal- Can I file Married Separately in MS- MS DOR Doesn't Know

Last year I got married and have a K1 from an out of state investment in Mississippi, so a few changes to navigate.  We are filing jointly for federal and live in TX, so the only state form I'll need to do this year is MS for this lone K1.  After searching if I could file the MS state form as married filing separately, it was recommended to call the state.  I did.  They couldn't even answer the question.
Verbatim I was told "Um well, I guess if you use TurboTax and it lets you then you can, but I don't think it will let you if you file federally as joint".  Despite me pushing the Mississippi Department of Revenue Individual Income Tax representative for an answer on what their state law was, they couldn't tell me. No joke.
Can anyone give me some insight here?  Can I file the MS return as married filing separately even if I file married filing jointly on federal?
