State tax filing
What exactly are you doing and where? Did you report exempt interest income from a 1099? If so, what kind of 1099? And are you referring to the followup questions about which state(s) the exempt interest income was for?
Are you using Forms Mode or the interview easy-step method?
A 2-digit state ID is typically the state abbreviation such as CO, KY, MO, MA, etc. Depending on what you are doing there may be special codes such as MX for multiple states, etc, or even XX in some circumstances for non-resident state interest, which may be taxed by your resident state return. But you shouldn't have to enter the codes. You should be entering all that in interview mode and not in Forms Mode. TurboTax will ask the questions and sort things out in that complicated situation.
