My employer withheld NYS local taxes (Box18 of my W-2) on my full year's wages. I only lived in NYS for 3 months, therefore, I would like a refund of the local taxes paid. I cannot find a form that will allow me to file for this credit. Is there one?
My employer will not adjust my W-2 to include only my earnings as of 3/31/2021 in Box 18. If I change it just for seeing how the numbers change, my refund increases substantially. I need to know how to claim this credit, please.
