I submitted my Federal and CA taxes. I then went back and removed the deduction from the Federal and it allowed me to e-file HI. However, I downloaded both versions of the forms with and without the deduction and while they both result in the same amount of money being owed, the numbers they are pulling from the Federal return are different. I'm concerned if I e-file with numbers that don't match what I officially submitted to the federal government, it could be noticed and raise a red flag that could initiate an audit. I guess I'll have to snail mail my return now. It's unfortunate that TurboTax wouldn't address this bug.
