State tax filing

The Utah withholding account number is a 14-character number.   The first eleven characters are numeric and the last three are “WTH.”    You have to change the WTH to wth to remove the error.   Make sure that you are entering it in the correct spot - Employer's (or Payer's) State ID number, Box 15.    And the numbers come first, then the 3 letters.

Do not enter hyphens or spaces.   Example: 12345678901wth.  11 digits followed by wth.   This happens on most Utah forms because the capital letters do not fit into the electronic form entry field.   If you enter 11 digits followed by wth, you will not get that error.    If you have more than one W-2 with Utah withholding, make this change on all of them.

You will need to do this on any forms that have a Utah Payer withholding ID; i.e, W-2's, 1099's, etc.    See example below.
