State tax filing
I have the exact same problem. If you select Resident, as you are, Turbo Tax allocates all your Florida Income to the State of South Carolina for the entire year. If you select Non-Resident there is no income reported or allocated to the State of South Carolina that was earned or unearned. This cannot be correct as you are a legal resident of South Carolina for part of the year. I wonder if that will trigger an audit by the State?
In addition, in completing Schedule A deductions for a Sales tax Deduction, Turbo Tax wants to know what County in South Carolina do you reside in order to calculate the correct Sales Tax deduction. I moved to Beaufort County and Turbo Tax does not even list Beaufort County as a County in South Carolina. Still trying to determine how to report this problem to Turbo Tax. Any suggestions?
