I resided and earned all of my income in 2018 in Vietnam. I completed Turbotax federal and all income was excluded from taxation. Do I need to file an AZ state return?
I've lived and worked in Vietnam since 2017. Prior to moving to Vietnam, I resided in Arizona. I maintain a member's house as a mailing address in Arizona, but, as noted, I haven't lived in or been to the US since 2017. I earned all of my income in Vietnam in 2018. Turbotax Deluxe has determined that the income I earned in Vietnam is exempt from taxation. Now, the Turbotax program is asking if I want to complete my Arizona state return. As noted I haven't lived in, nor earned any income in AZ since 2017. I know I'm required by law to report my foreign income to the federal government, but do I need to file and AZ state return as well?
