That gets their attention because hundreds of millions of users potentially can see what is being shared publicly in real-time. Corporations have to track public comments there and address concerns fast because it impacts their sales. The closed system communications like the "support" email address likely goes unanswered. I'd encourage amping up concerns on Twitter. The "escalate" button is pushed quicker by their mid-level product managers, likely leading them to: publish an honest FAQ, reply more honestly and quickly to those who bought the license, ensure trust to customers who would like to use their product again. Their response is up to them.
