It appears that when you input a move date out of California before 184 days into the year, the software assumes you lived in the US for under 6 months and makes you ineligible for the EIC. You no longer see the question about living in the US for more than 6 months in the EIC Credit screens.
To resolve this issue:
- In the Federal Personal Info section Change the move date to be July 3rd or later
- Revisit the EIC screens and answer Yes to the question about living in the US for more than 6 months
- Return to the Personal Info screen and correct the date you moved out of CA to the date you actually moved
You should now have the EIC (if otherwise eligible).
