I work for the state of CA and currently live in CA. I will retire on July 1 and will receive a buyout for unused vacation and holiday pay. I plan on moving to TN on June 1 (a month before I retire). Can I avoid paying CA state income tax on my buyout if I am physically living in TN the day I retire?
