Thank you for confirming. Yes, he itemized for Oregon this year. We are both using the same TurboTax CD and it acknowledges all along the interview which things I can/can't claim or file because of how he is filing. But, it doesn't seem to do as well at this with the Oregon return as it does for the Federal return. I went back through the interview to find where to change it to itemized but couldn't find it. I found another issue with my State return, so I'm not going to file it through TurboTax and will use Oregon's direct eFile option instead.
