Only your state can tell you what they are changing on your return.   Did they send you a letter?   TurboTax is not given any information after you file your tax return so no one at TT knows what IN is changing.

They sent me a letter saying that I owe $1174. When I filed through TT I owed $578. I wasn't sent an explanation or reason why. They never sent an amendment or anything. Just that I owe $1174.

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
