After you file

If you have already filed, wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected by the IRS.

If your return is rejected. you can correct any errors on the return and add the form 1099-B received from your broker.

If your return is accepted, you need to file an amended return to report the form 1099-B.

If you expect a refund, wait until you receive the refund before submitting your amended return.
