Received a notice of intent to assess from the MA Dept. of revenue from 2013 after an audit was done

We received a notice of intent to assess from the MA Dept. of revenue due to a discrepancy between the amount filed on the federal and state returns from 2013. My husbands W2 was for 10,661 however for some reason it pulled over to the MA return as 8989. We are just noticing this now. Due to this, we now owe 94.98 to MA. Is this something that turbotax should be responsible for as it was an error on the software's part?
