If you chose the direct debit option, the IRS may take its own sweet time on a debit, and takes it at their convenience, especially during a busy deadline filing week.   If you still don't see the debit 7-10 days after your return has been accepted, you can call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about it.

The answer in blue above does answer the original threadowner's question.   The question was posted on April 18, 2016, about 18 months ago.  The threadowner was not asking about October extended filing deadline.
