After you file
Unfortunately, you can not change your bank account information after you have filed your return unless it gets rejected; if it is rejected, however, just log back in to your tax return and make any necessary corrections.
If the IRS has already accepted it, they will first try transmitting your refund to the account you indicated on your return. Once the bank rejects it back to the IRS, they will print a paper check and mail it to the mailing address you put on your tax return. You can expect 6-8 weeks or longer before you get your check.
If
the return hasn't already posted to the IRS system, you can ask them to cancel
the direct deposit and proceed directly to a paper check. You may call the IRS

7:00am – 7:00pm.
