I'm in the same position, and the IRS didn't notice and took the full amount out of my bank account. They also charged me a penalty, which I should be refunded. Curious why we shouldn't amend at this point, or did you mean not to amend prior to seeing whether the IRS would catch it? I'd rather not wait for something that may not happen for awhile, or at all.
