Why wasn't my state tax filed

I filed  Feb 8, 2019, electronically using Turbo Tax Deluxe. The State of Michigan and the Federal IRS have no record of my return.

After you file

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

After you file

The response was No record of a return for SS number given

After you file

Then your return was not filed.  Either you did not go all the way through and click the big orange button that says "Transmit my Return Now" or it was rejected and you did not notice.  Open up your return and go back to the FILE section.  You might need to click on Add a State to get back in--you do not really have to add a state, but that will get you in.  Then go back through the screens in the FILE section to file your returns.
