After you file
Possibly. When you open TurboTax Desktop and click on the tile for the return you want to Amend, look at your Form 1040 in FORMS mode. If it looks correct, TurboTax pulled in your return correctly, either from its default location of Documents > TurboTax or the alternative file location where you 'saved as'. As long as the .tax2025 extension is unchanged, it should load the latest version of the file. However, since you changed the file name, it may not be finding the correct file you want to amend.
If your 1040 is your filed version, return to interview mode and Federal > Other Tax Situations > Amend a Return. Did your refund meter change to $0? If so, add your 1099-DIV info, then go to FORMS again and open Form 1040X. Does it show your original filed info in Column A? If not, navigate to your filed version and double-click on it to open in the program to Amend.
