I've been a loyal customer for 25 years and have used ItsDeductible since Tax Year 2000. Unfortunately, that loyalty hasn’t been reciprocated.
Ending support for a long-standing product without a contingency plan for your customers is extremely disappointing — and frankly, uncharacteristic of the Intuit.
Your warning on my app indicated it wasn't available AFTER 10/21/2025. My watch still says it's 10/21/2025....Let's talk about the date for a minute. What prompted the middle of October as a meaningful date to pull the plug? Its just so random.
To add to the frustration, many of us experienced widespread internet and service outages this week, which further disrupted access. Combined with the confusing language and grammatical errors in your announcement, this rollout feels careless.
I work for software companies and have had to sunset products. NEVER have any of them not had a contingency plan on the DAY OF. A reputable company would have had a work-around where support could give you a link to complete downloading your data. Instead Felicia and Dawn in support had to say, "Sorry, they didn't give us any way to give you access or to get your data." I felt bad for them as they were getting calls ALL DAY b/c I wasn't the only one that had an UNCLEAR understanding of not being available AFTER 10/31/25. Do you see the ambiguity of this message?
Here is how this should have gone:
- We are sunsetting ItsDeductible on 10/30/2025 after which you will not have access. to add anymore donations.
- Don't worry, we have your back. You may download your data though the end of the year.
- Once you have completed downloading, check "download complete" so we don't send reminders.
- Check the community for ItsDeductible replacements. H&R Block has the tax and deductible software.
I have one last thing to say....BYE, Felicia! I digress, but couldn't help myself. I really did appreciate you and Dawn for being so gracious through your inability to support your customers.
