Need help so I don't need to return my child benefits to Canada Revenue Agency
Hi there,
Thanks for the opportunity to join this community forum. I truly appreciate it.
I am reaching out to you now, because I have a problem with CRA (Canada Revenue Agency).
My husband and I have separated from 2023 and he lives in US, while I live in Canada. I didn't put the marital status into separated for my income tax 2023 and 2024, since we haven't divorced. But, my husband changed his address from Canadian address to US address in his 2023 and 2024 income tax. So, right now CRA asked me to return child benefit I received from 2023 to now. I need help to fix this issue, so I don't need to return child benefits to CRA. What should I do to fix this issue with CRA?
Could you please help me and let me know what actions I should take to fix it?
Thanks so much for your attention and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
DP
