Updates on prior questions:
I checked and they are except for estimated tax payments, where Col A is now 0 vs Col C which was my actual correct amount I had paid for 2024.
I was able to fix this by going into Forms mode and manually editing Col A to match the first amended Col C. When I did that the middle column switched to 0, and the final refund amount remained correct (reversing the prior withdrawal).
When I was done with the federal tax check, I got a message:
We don't detect any differences between your original 2024 return and your amended return
I did a side-by-side PDF comparison and my original 1040s and amended ones did in fact match (lines 1-38).
I have to go back to understand why the state tax changed. I expected a refund from the first amended return. The second one shouldn't have any change so I expect it should be 0. In that case if it is unchanged, does TurboTax still e-file another amended state return?
State tax actually appeared to be correct. It is the same refund amount listed in my first amended return, which I've yet to receive a direct deposit for. When I went to file my second amended return, it didn't ask about re-filing the state return and just did the federal as expected.
I'm hoping that the IRS accepts the return and automatically refunds me the money currently showing as a negative balance (code 670) without having to wait several months for the code 570 to be cleared.
