After you file
> Payment section should be accurate.
Does this mean the "Refund or Amount You Owe" section of the 1040-X? Or the section in the 1040 that follows the amended return?
> Your Refund or Amount You Owe should be understood.
I have to go back to understand why the state tax changed. I expected a refund from the first amended return. The second one shouldn't have any change so I expect it should be 0. In that case if it is unchanged, does TurboTax still e-file another amended state return?
> Filing a second amendment is confusing because Col A has to be from Amendment No.1 Col C.
I checked and they are except for estimated tax payments, where Col A is now 0 vs Col C which was my actual correct amount I had paid for 2024.
I just saw my IRS transcript got updated online and it is now showing a negative balance equal to the amount the IRS just took from me, and there is a code 570 "additional account action pending". An online search gave me the following:
Code 570 ("Additional account action pending") on your IRS transcript generally means the IRS has temporarily paused action on your account while they review something related to your return, such as an amendment, a discrepancy, or a need for additional verification. This is commonly seen with amended returns, identity verification, or math checks.
What To Do
Do not take immediate action. When you see code 570, the recommended step is to wait. The IRS may resolve the issue automatically or contact you for more information. Submitting another amended return right now could complicate processing and further delay resolution.
Monitor your transcript. Within 7–14 days after seeing code 570, look out for a code 971, which indicates the IRS has sent you a notice explaining the action taken or requesting more information
So based on the above, I guess I'll just wait and see.
