If you e-file, your return should be accepted within 48 hours, not including weekends and holidays. Accepted just means it was successfully downloaded into the IRS system and passed basic math and security checks.
Actual processing the return and approval of a refund takes 3 weeks on average, for most returns, but can take longer if there are issues with your return that need to be checked out.
