We have filed with TurboTax for a number of years. In the beginning, no issues, but the last two years, the IRS contacted us asking for more money.
For 2024 tax year, Turbo Tax said we would get a refund of around $1800, but instead of applying that to our 2025 obligation, the IRS sent a letter asking for an additional $2609.
Is there a way to report this sort of thing so any glitch in the software can be repaired? It's frustrating not having an audit feature which could identify the error. We made several calls to the IRS and got confusing information that did not give us confidence that it won't happen again.
